Background Information

You and your partner run a growing online sportswear business and are hoping to attract more investors so that you can expand your company. You have both decided to target Spanish-speaking customers, particularly those from Mexico. In one week, you will be meeting with potential investors, and you would like to have a Spanish version of your current website. Because time is limited, you have both decided to hire a freelance translator at eLance.com to provide a translation for your website.

Although you are equal partners in your company, you both have slightly different ideas for redesigning this website. However, you need to find the best translation provider at eLance.com who is qualified to meet both your expectations for changingn the website.

Pre-Task

Before you meet, you will need to visit eLance.com to look up the qualifications, evaluations and porfolios available for each translation provider. You should spend one hour doing this research.

Task

You will have 20 minutes to talk with your partner online to decide which translation provider(s) you would like to hire. After you have come to an agreement, email a query letter to the provider including a brief project description that includes how much you are willing to pay, the due date and any expectations for redesigning the website to totoro2@dolphin.upenn.edu.
